Ratby Band Euro Disney

On Saturday 14th July, Ratby Band and supporters met at Ratby band room at 5 in the morning. We were to travel to Paris to play at Disney Land because we were fortunate enough to have been selected to play there. On the journey to the tunnel we picked up our guide. The guide told us a bit about where we were staying and a bit about the attractions at Eurodisney. On the bus we watched films, did quizes and played many games of bingo!

We arrived at the Hotel in the early evening. The following day we travelled to the park and went in through the staff entrance, so we got to see behind the scenes. We went in the park and we could go on many rides with family and friends. We played our instruments at 6.00pm in an open front theatre. Quite al ot of people came in and listened to our playing. We played for half an hour, then we could go back on the rides for a few hours, then we had tea at Planet Hollywood.

After tea we watched the parade and the fireworks, which was great as the parade was led by Mickey Mouse. The parade included Minnie Mouse, the Chipmonks, Pluto, Goofy, and other charactors from films like the little mermaid. The fireworks had candles on the castle because there was a 15 year anniversary for the park.

The next day we went to the park later, about 11 or 12 o'clock. We had the choice of the park or the studios. Me and my family went to the studios and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Personal favourite rides in the studios was 'Rock n roller coaster' which was based on Aerosmith, and 'Crushes Coaster' which was based on Finding Nemo. We had tea at Annette's Cafe. The staff invited some of the diners to come and dance with them. So Andrew Robbins, Gillian Smith and Lynne Harris all joined in very enthusiastically!

Everyone on the trip made friends with someone they haven't talked to before, both parents and players. So I'd like to thank Becky Moss, Julie Plant, and everyone else who organised the trip. And thank you to everyone who made the trip so great and friendly. It was a great experience and has encouraged me and hopefully a lot more players to carry on playing their instruments at Ratby Band. And I hope we can do something like this again soon!
